Stevie Wonder has announced plans to re-release one of his biggest singles four decades after its debut. His song “For Once In My Life” will be released on digital formats through Tamla Motown label next month.
U.S. President-elect Barack Obama claimed the musical legend as his “musical hero,” adding that the singer was one of his favorite musicians when he was growing up in the ‘70s. On Thursday August 28, 2008, the day Obama accepted his party’s nomination, Wonder performed at Invesco Field at Mile High.

Stevie Wonder will start the European leg of his “Wonder Summer’s Night Tour” on September 8. This will be the first time he has toured Europe in over a decade.
His opening show is at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England. So far, Stevie has announced four UK gigs, including one at the M.E.N Arena in Manchester on September 9, and two at The O2 Arena in London on September 11th and 12th.
Stevie's other stops in his tour also find him playing gigs in Holland, Sweden, Germany, Norway and Italy. The closing concert will be at The Bercy in Paris on September 28th.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Wonder has promised to perform throughout Australia and New Zealand, with tickets going on sale in July once dates are finalized.
Wonder Sweeps the East this June.
Stevie Wonder kicks off his summer tour on June 18 in Babylon, NY, and is scheduled to play more than a dozen North American shows. In June, he sweeps the East, from New York to Illinois, and in July he heads West for shows in Washington, Nevada and California.
Wonder broke his 10 year tour dry spell late last year. About his upcoming concerts, Wonder says, "I am looking forward to performing in these venues under the stars. We are going to have some wonderful nights of intimate excitement."
